🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Users Voice Displeasure About Sizing Modifications Members of the platform have expressed outrage following a change that caused products showing incorrect sizing. The popular resale platform has revised its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments without notifying every member regarding the update. Online Platforms Reaction Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping. Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces. It has advised users to review their products and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction. Measurement Approach Updates Previously, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Member Stories Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, said garments she listed on Vinted with size 14 labels were appearing on the platform as size 20–22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she stated. Necessary Adjustments A different user, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she explained. Platform Context The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members. It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: previously, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
